- Janice Street Intersection: Recovery of existing supply point from pole X26598. Split the existing Rate 2 circuit into two separate supply points, the northern end from pole P297593 and the southern end from pole P61883. Recovery of three (3) x Rate 2 S250 streetlight and three (3) x SBM columns.
- Janice Street Intersection: Three (3) x L175 streetlights on two (2) joint use base plate columns on both a single and double 3m outreach. One (1) on a slip base mounted column with a single 3m outreach. Rate 3 scheme supplied via pole X26598 and TMR post mounted switchboard.
- Folkstone Avenue Intersection: Recovery of two (2) x Rate 2 H250 streetlights on a slip base mounted column. Installation of two (2) x L170 streetlights on separate slip base columns with 4.5m outreaches. Recovery and installation of two (2) x Pit 4 and associated cables located clear of carriage way.
Overview:
Our Electrical Engineers determined the lighting category for Old Northern Road to be Category V3 of AS/NZS 1158.1.1. This standard requires a minimum horizontal illuminance of 7.5 lux on the road surface at intersections and raised traffic management devices.
Auspower Connect produced a Lighting design using Perfect Lite software. The proposed streetlight spacing for the L170 luminaire remains within the maximum streetlight spacing of 68m for an opposite street lighting arrangement and 62m for a central arrangement. Illuminance design was utilised for the Folkstone Avenue intersection to maintain the minimum horizontal illuminance of 7.5 Lux on the design area.
Key Constraints:
Our Electrical Engineers produced a compliant design that was heavily influenced by reconfiguration of Rate 2 street lighting on the intersections of Janice Street and Folkstone Avenue to be replaced by a new Rate 3 scheme.
