TI0008 – LV TIES – ENERGEX REQUIREMENTS
Refer Operational Update # C-0027 – 31/08/2021
Our electrical engineers produce electrical engineering documentation for underground residential subdivisions. During this process, our electrical engineers identify suitable low voltage ties` that satisfy ENERGEX requirements.
LV circuits emanating from a transformer should be inter-connected with circuits from other transformer LV areas, however, LV ties between the same transformer circuits are also required for network reliability and operational flexibility.
This is not always practical due to factors such as lot layouts, road geometry, topography and proximity of other LV tie points. Our electrical engineers assess the economic feasibility, technical feasibility, and network reliability.
The Supply and Planning Manual includes Table 3.5.1 which provides Criteria for Economic Feasibility associated with LV ties.
Alternately, our electrical engineers may recommend a LV Tie based on network reliability and the nature of customer loads.
